While I celebrate an evening of insomnia and stress, I'll update my journal with some random ramblings...

I noticed that we can now have archived models in our favorites list. This is great and tragic all at once. Great because some of my favorites just are, whether they're active on the site or not. Tragic because there are already so many amazing models on this site it's hard enough to just pick five. After juggling faves for my first few months in 2003 I kind of settled on a list made up of friends, and didn't really change it at all. While I have a lot of friends on the site, I kind of connected to those people for their own individual reasons. So for the first time since then, I think I need to try and juggle a bit. Exceptions - Faith because it was her sets and later our conversations-through-journals that really drew me into the site and the community... and then Fractal because we plan on running a country together someday, and you just keep people like that on your friends list... Natasha, sorry to have rotated you off the list - I still love you and plan on drinking all the alcohol and raising (or is that lowering) the bar on debauchery in Portland with you someday...

And yes, that's way the hell too much thought to be putting into a web site lol...

I finally made it to Phoenix, though dammit there are a few specific people I wish I'd gotten to spend some time with before I left LA. But lots of strange things were going on, it's good to get away and hit the reset button as it were. I plan on being back soon, and when I get there we'll have to set things right.

My world has become a weird sea of bizarre drama, a lot of my time is going to go towards dealing with that. I won't get into it, as I'd rather minimize the negative bullshit and focus on the positive. So if I'm scarce it's because I'm doing dumb junk, and looking forward to better things.

In the better things department, I'm working on sketching out details on a couple different art projects. Sort of functional art pieces - one's a headboard/footboard for a bed, all arty and curvy and stuff. The other is a DJ console that embodies the sort of high tech/low tech thing I've been driving towards. It'll be made mostly of metal, but have few (if any) sharp angles. Sort of an organic look, almost like a bunch of flowers or something. Hopefully during a break in the previously mentioned drama, I'll get a chance to sketch them up on the computer and post some drawings.

A friend of mine has made his major label debut. Lorin, who releases his music under the moniker Bassnectar, has released his third album. It's called Mesmerizing The Ultra. Distributed by Universal, it's in most chain stores and record stores around the country for about $13. Preview it in itunes if you like, but go buy it in stores. The CD comes with a bonus disc, which is basically his entire 2nd album. Called Diverse Systems Of Throb, that was one of my favorite CD's of 2004. Bassnectar should be in the electronic/dance section at your favorite CD joint. If you listen to that genre at all, please please please give that strong consideration next time you buy an album. Aside from him being a cool guy who deserves to get to make a buck or two in the music biz, the success of this release could open the door for some really amazing things.

One last bit of info slash plug before I wrap this up. LA Decompression Party (for those not familiar with Burning Man, it's a street fair in downtown LA with costumes, art, and great music) that's a sort of after-party for Burning Man but everyone's welcome. For ppl who went, it's a sort of "I missed everyone, let's get together" sort of thing. For those who didn't but are kind of curious, it's a low impact way of seeing what the hell all us idiots rant and rave about. It runs from noon to midnight, and my camp/art collective are hosting an after-party. Lineup and details to follow, but I can assure you it will be a great time.

I'm done rambling. If you read this far, thanks. Now it's your turn.
