The guy above and a whole bunch of other really great people are dead, victims in the La Conchita mudslide. To find out more check Fractal's or torque's journals. Far more informative and eloquent than I ever could come up with (I knew some of the victims including the guy above, but not that well). Don't feel bad - they were great people who lived life to the fullest.

Since I'm some kind of purveyor of information today, check out one of my favorite sites, and learn about cool stuff like gigantor sunspots.

In other news, I finally got around to uploading a selection of my Burning Man Photos. For some stupid reason, they're in reverse order in my journal, but they appear normally in the Burning Man group. Go figure. While I was at it I rearranged and uploaded a few other pics, so if you've got time to kill, check 'em out.

Tonight is a pot luck dinner at an artist friend's place. Tons of people will be there that are far more cool and interesting than I am, and I probably won't know many. But my friend kicks a lot of ass, so I'll brave it and go anyways.

I'll be helping with and attending the party below on Saturday night, it should be fun...
