Wow - I just got booted from SGLA. Apparently for some people, the truth hurts.

To respond to the comments being made in the SGLA thread (conveniently after Maxx booted me)...
According to the phone conversation I had with Maxx when the people in question were zotted, a) he requested that said members were removed until things could be sorted out (sounds crazy, but under the circumstances it was the right thing to do), then b) he pledged to make things right again if it turned out that the accusations were false (they were, in fact the accused even helped with the police investigation).
During the days after the incident, Maxx and I spoke several times via email, IM, and telephone. During that time, Maxx was supportive. It was only after it was proven that the accusations were false that he stopped giving a damn. Most emails, calls, and IM's went unanswered, other than a message asking me why I even cared. In answer to that, I replied that these people were my friends, and that they did nothing wrong. I would gladly do the same for any of my other friends (which includes many of you).
The argument that I shouldn't care because Maxx can't count how many friends have been kicked off the site is ludicrous. It may not matter to him, but it matters to me. When someone does something stupid and they get zotted for a legitimate reason, it's understandable. When friends who did nothing wrong get the boot, it is a problem that should probably be addressed by a responsible group moderator.
At this point, I'm out of SGLA. But those of you who are left, get a new mod. Maxx is demonstrating that he doesn't care, and in his own words it doesn't matter to him. When a moderator doesn't even allow for discussion of a topic without first removing its members and then closing a thread before the other members can even voice their opinions, he's not moderating anything at all as much as he's doing whatever the hell he wants.
True, it is just a web site. But I've made a lot of friends here, and consider this a virtual community with a lot of good people. It matters to some of us.

This is sad.
I hope everything gets fixed.
