On Friday night, a small group of my friends got together at the Space Island warehouse for what I'd describe as 'family night.' The people who struggled to organize and decorate and make the Vision event happen... we got to enjoy the place for ourselves. Nobody was working, it was our turn to enjoy ourselves. While nobody was tending bar, it turned out that nobody made their own drink, either. We wound up making drinks for each other all night. One of my friends, who happens to be a chef, brought in a beautiful dinner. We turned up the sound system - nobody DJ'ed, it was just putting on records. And we dined, we danced, we drank, and got hilariously fucked up.

Much later, a couple of us went off to meet a friend in the valley. He was hanging with some of his friends, but things were winding down. So we abducted/rescued him and hit his place, where we kept things going til sometime around 5am.

At that point it was clear that the evening was in danger of winding down. So my friend Sage and I headed back to my place with her dog in tow, where we wound up hanging out for several more hours. At one point we took a break to go down to the ocean and walk around in the surf. Totally preposterous, and totally perfect.

We finally put Friday night to bed at around 5pm. It was tired, and needed some rest. Besides, I had to get ready to head over to Bean and Shalome's place for a little masquerade birthday celebration. It was a lot of fun, it was really good to see some friends that I hadn't seen in some time.

Today will hopefully see me relax and rest a bit, then get things together so I can finally finish the DVD I'm working on. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
