I'm utterly exhausted. The weekend was good overall, hope yours was, too.
Friday, work was grueling. Went with DaveUnderTheBed to see The Day After Tomorrow on Friday night... it was possibly one of the worst movies ever. So bad it was hilarious. Met my expectations, though. Crap story, great effects. I felt bad for Dennis Quaid, who was walking into the Arclight just as we were leaving. I have to imagine he'd be leaving the theater early through a side exit.
Saturday morning the cohost and I went off to the middle of fucking nowhere (2-3 hours outside of LA) to some mesa for a weekend camping/party. Sort of a Burning Man warm-up of sorts. Ouch, got a flat tire as I parked. The tent went up quickly despite having no direction (wtf?), and we were good to go. Later in the evening elfin and her boy, and then Seether and his girl showed up, which added to the mayhem. I won't go into too many details, all I can tell you is that through the miracle of several kinds of technology, we were all pretty much up through the night dancing our collective asses off. Despite the cold night, I managed to keep warm wearing a sarong (lol)...
The next day was very chill, with people pretty much recuperating from the night before. A lot of hanging out and talking and all that, very nice though I'd found myself in an introspective mood. After dinner we all took disco naps to recharge a bit before Sunday's mayhem, but in the end we all pretty much slept through most of the night lol.
Monday morning came and the cohost and I broke camp, changed the tire, then headed back to LA. Enjoyed a much needed shower and some yoga, as well as some studio time and then chinese food takeaways. Tried several times to watch the end of Return Of The King, but kept crashing out.
Today work was simply brutal. Spent lunch getting the dead tire replaced, and am now working on decompressing a bit while I get things washed and put away and all that junk. More introspection as well, and with luck I'll get some time in working on The Tragic. I also need to spend some time catching up with people here, I've been horribly remiss in staying in touch with most of the planet lately.
