Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny was pretty good. The original album and the TV show were better in my opinion, but it's still worth watching if you're a fan of The D. Tim Robbins seems to be pretty good at playing long haired weirdos.
I'm still trying to enlarge my music collection. At this point I've broken everything down into four seperate categories:
1) Stuff that I've always listened to and enjoyed but never gotten around to owning in album format. Includes stuff like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, a couple of Beatles albums that I don't have already. Mostly old stuff that I got into because of my dad.
2) Stuff that I owned at one point long ago before the concept of having everything on mp3 was born. Includes They Might Be Giants, Neil Young, Cheap Trick, and other crap that I'm not thinking of right at this moment.
3) Bands whose singles I have enjoyed but never explored beyond singles. Violent Femmes and Jane's Addiction are the first bands that come to mind here.
4) Bands that through my own ineptitude I've never managed to listen to. List is too large to mention but rapidly dwindling. Recent additions include The Decemberists, Elliot Smith, and Jeff Buckley. Where have I been for some of this stuff? How did I miss out? I'm still taking suggestions for this category. If you suggest something please specify an album!
After some deliberation I decided that I'm really glad all of my CDs were stolen. If that hadn't happened I would have never bought an iPod and thusly I would have never decided that my music collection was severely lacking and therefore I would have never started listening to all this stuff that I've been missing out on for so long. I've spent more money on CDs in the past two months that I have in the past five years.
Good lord I need to go somewhere. I've been off work for pretty much the last three weeks and I'm starting to get cabin fever.

So you've discovered Elliott Smith? Good stuff, eh?
