Show you the difference 'tween my gun and my pistol
This video is motherfucking epic! You should watch it if ya got a couple minutes free. It is siiiiick! But it's also going to be the soundtrack to this blog so... proceed as you wish!
Soooo today was pretty much the craziest day of my life thus far. DefendTucson took me on a fun adventure and I have pictures to prove it! Woo hoooo!
Fiiiiiiirst, we went to Travis Air Force Base and he showed me around his squadron and showed me his jet. lol That sounds a lot more sexual than I meant for it to sound but I got to tour a C5 jet like for reals. It was sooooo awesome. Being on base reminded me of when my grandpa was still alive. He was in the Army Air Corps in WWII and he used to always take me to McClellan Air Force Base when it was all still running.
So it brought back a lot of cool memories for me. And it was really amazing seeing the sheer size of these jets. This jet transports cargo and it transports fuckin helicopters and shit, just to give you an idea.
He showed me everything in that jet, including the pilot's seat.

We spent a lot of time up there, just chillin and talking and watching other planes load up and stuffs. LOL It was really seriously awesome.

After that, we went to his house and I met his roommate's dog, Spaghetti. He's soooooooooo cute!!!

I have literally -no idea- why this dog's name is Spaghetti, but he's a total lover and gave me hugs and kisses! Hehehe!
We were going to go right back to Davis, because I was a little worried about where my car was parked. So, we got on the road. So, ya know how I've been reading the Zombie Survival Guide? Well, it got me thinking recently that I have NEVER shot a gun before. I mean, literally, if someone had put a gun in my hands I would have no clue what to do. I'm a fuckin hippy! Haha! Well, DefendTucson had the idea of us going to a gun range so he could teach me.
I was stoked! But, secretly, in my head the whooooooole drive there I was super nervous. I mean, I have never been on the shooting end of a gun. Ever. Like, not even an unloaded gun! So, my mind was just racing thinking all the possible things that could go wrong, because that's what I do. LOL I could feel my hands starting to shake a little and my heart starting to race. What if I looked stupid attempting this? What if I don't even hit the target? WHAT?!
We finally got to the Gun and Fish store place that has a shooting range. The elevator ride down to the basement where the range was was a slow one. I was so anxious to just jump in there and do it! Get it over with and try not to be too awkward or look stupid while attempting this.
I told DefendTucson to do all the talking for me since I didn't have a single clue about what I was doing. So, he helped me read the rules and picked out a Beretta 92fs and some ammo and we went in. At this point, my hands were really shaking. Even with my ear protection, the first like..... 15 shots I heard when we got in there made me jump. Lol. I'm sure all the men in there were just laughing at me, but I didn't care about that. At this point I was just concerned with how I was supposed to handle this incredibly deadly weapon.

He showed me how to load it and how to hold it, put up my target and stepped back. I was for some reason surprised by how heavy it was while loaded. Like I said, I have NEVER held a gun before! lol I felt insanely powerful. I mean, I was "god" for a minute! I could fuckin kill someone! That shit is insane!
The first time I pulled the trigger, I was surprised at how easy it was. I mean, I know how a gun works, it's just that I never felt it. You tap that fuckin trigger and BANG!!!! A bullet fucking shoots out at the speed of light! It's... incredible.

This is my target after my first 50 shots. Not too bad. I have NO AIM whatsoever, but it was still amazingly fun.

DefendTucson went and bought me another 50 bullets cuz I was soooooooo not finished! Hahaha! I kept picturing a zombie coming towards me and then as my bullets went through the paper, I pictured the zombie being hit and slowed down. lol I am suuuuuuuch a dork. Anyways, it was epic.

I did, however, have to have him help me load it and stuff because that part was kind of difficult, not gonna lie. But I feel like next time, I could handle it on my own. At least most of the way. haha! I have -literally- never felt so powerful in my entire life. I made him swear that we can make this a regular thing when he gets back from his deployment in June or whatever before he moves back to AZ.

100 rounds go waaaaay too fast. I wanna do that shit for wayyyyy longer next time. But I wanna stick with that little Beretta. It felt sooooo good to hold her. And I'd like to get better with my aim, obviously. I mean, I only hit it in the head like 6 times. Buuuuuuuuut I hit the paper 92 times! Which I think is not bad for my very first attempt. I'm pretty sure all the other dudes there thought I was a shitty shot. But I feel like they didn't have all the facts! I am a hippy who has never been on the dominant end of a gun and never thought I ever would be. So, they can suck it!

After the madness that was zombie killing in my head, he took me back to my car after I gushed for an hour about how AMAZING that whole experience was. I decided I could at the very least, deter a bunch of zombies if it happened right now. lol

Trekka has officially given guns her stamp of approval. ((in certain instances. I still have my limits. lol))
But that's not where the coolness of my day ended, though it was the total climax!
EDIT to add:
The best conversation ever happened on our way back to my Jeep. We were talking about the piano and how DefendTucson doesn't know how to play it but he can physically ACT OUT the act of playing. "I've seen keyboard cat go like.." as he proceeded to mimic keyboard cat. HAHAHA! Lulz for DAAAAAYS

From there I went to my dad's house to feed his kitty cat, Mitzi. She is soooo fat and adorable! LOOK!

Dawwwwww!
My dad is in the Dominican Republic with an organization called Operation Rainbow. They go to impoverished countries and cast broken bones and perform orthopedic surgeries to correct deformities and injuries. You may remember a blog I wrote about a year and a half ago when my dad went to Haiti to help after the earthquake. Soooo incredible. I am so proud of my dad. We are officially going to get me a passport so that I can tag along on his next mission and help. I already got approved by the coordinator so allllll I need is my passport, which I've never needed before, therefore don't have. lol Next time next time.
But for now, my dad is over there for the next week and a half, changing the world one broken bone at a time.
Anyways, after that I drove home and got to watch a beautiful sunset while I daydreamed about killing zombies some more.

I am sooooo exhausted from today!!! But I don't know if it could have been much better. I give today 2 thumbs waaaaaay up. 10 out of 10 for shizzzzzz! Now, I wanna watch some Always Sunny and veg out in my jammies. God I hope I dream of zombies tonight!
