Well, I think I've finally recovered, at least somewhat...

I don't know what pissed me off more, the Presidential loss or the overwhelming approval of Issue 1 in Ohio. (This was one of those constitutional amendment proposals to "define marriage"). The whole Hell of it is, I know the vast majority of people who voted "yes" on it had no idea it would also affect them (I, for example am a straight male who lives with my girlfriend. So I guess our rights should be an issue unless we've gone all the way). This thing passed something like 61-38 in Ohio. It had similar margins in the other states with similar proposals. I get the feeling there's something a lot of people just don't want to admit... If they can hide it under the cover of the voting booth, they're more comfortable.

The other side of this is, I do think it will keep going round and round. I doubt it is an absolute. It will be fought over and debated, and somewhere in our lifetimes, it won't be such an issue.

I hope I'm not proven wrong again. Thank Gods that jackass in the White House can't get another 4 years after these.

It really, really sucks to be from Ohio right now...
