Well, the field season is over. I hate this time of year... I've only just begun to really get in shape due to a couple of months of hiking 5+ miles in the mountains every day, living in a tent, and eating small amounts of food for 10 days at a time, with 4 days break in between. But now that I don't have to do any of that, and the work portion of my life involves entering, proofing, and analyzing data based on the bird surveys I was doing, I find myself almost immediately getting lethargic and eating too much.

A quick photo taken at 8400 feet above sea level on the spine of a ridge overlooking a gorgeous little mountain lake and beautiful valley... I love my job! I get paid to hike and document the different bird species I see and hear. What's better than that??
