We played a show at the Pussycat Lounge on Tuesday. The sound there was pretty bad, and poor Phil's mic kept shorting out--he had to hold the cable end in just the right position in the receptacle or it cut out. I let a guy in the band before us use my sad old fender deluxe amp, and by the time our set was over it was so hot that it burned my hand when I was stowing the power cord, and it had been losing volume steadily over the course of our set. When we left it was raining like crazy and I had no garbage bag to cover it, and pushed it around on its little cart trying to get to the train station. Poor thing got soaked. Gonna get a new amp from Santy Klaus, I hope. Other than that it was a really good show! Albertine and a bunch of other SG people were there to see Hunter's band the F-Holes play.
I've been working so much lately. I have a full-time job as a production director for a media company and then I have a business on the side with a friend of mine making mass amounts of ringtones for record labels and delivering them to wireless carriers. We've had the business going for a couple of months and its taking off, hopefully I will be able to quit the full-time job soon. I need a vacation. But I also have a really strong desire to be done with being broke for the rest of my life, so I work my ass off doing both. If I want to get free from having to work for the man I need to put in the effort to become the man, then I will have free time whenever I want it. For now I need to find new methods of stress relief, I'm thinking perhaps orgiastic behavior and maybe cable TV. I've been trying to do yoga. I used to be able to hold a full lotus comfortably for a very long time, and lift myself up on my hands, which I am working toward being able to do again.
I think what I really need is to be smothered in the love of 4Stella4Star. Thats right mama, you come up here and we'll round up Phillipe and we'll all have a blast and a half.

It's was scary but it's done. I've go the keys and the movers are coming Monday. It's hard to buy in any city, really. I had to move out to the 'burbs but it works for me since most of my business is out there. I could never have done this when I lived in Boston or NYC.
