My faith in humanity is dead. My faith in democracy is dead. My faith in the common sense of Americans is dead. But my hope is not dead. Because this isn't over. If I still believe in anything it is the perseverance of the human spirit over adversity and our ability to triumph over adversity. Bush supports white protestant men. He doesn't support women, minorities, non-christian faiths, queer tolerance, choice, environmentalism, freedom and therefore he doesn't support me. I will continue to fight for an America that accepts me as I am. The next four years will be dark...but this is definitely not over.

-Kristin (The Okie)

I liken the situation in the USA to the problem oxford England had with its traffic congestion. The city council decided to change things. So they changed some of the roads to pedestrian and diverted the traffic down only two roads. They added more busses. I have since witnessed the most impressive six bus traffic jam in which the busses were wedged so firmly that none could move. This is the state of the USA. Economic decline, the withdrawal of rights, the biggest pain in the collective ass of the people that we have seen for some time.

I am very glad to be Canadian at this moment. Lets all flee over the boarder. xkx

I understand and agree with you and Hemlocks points, and believe me that had occurred to me. I think the point of my journal was not clear, I didn't intend to debate war, service, or any other political issue...just to express my own discontent and worry because of the election. THanks tho. kiss
