In Portugal now. Today we headed east until Spain was close enough to be mentioned on signposts. Lunch was lamb "a sabores de Monsaraz" with a view of the largest artificial lake in Europe. A few years ago, it wasnt there. There was a village which is now underwater, except they relocated everyone who lived there in a new village that is so like the original, everyone has the same neighbours they had before. Nice touch, that.
Then we went to the local medeival village with one of the oldest bullfighting arenas in the country. From there could be seen a templar chapel left behind by the crusaders, but we didnt go take a closer look at that. We did go see the dam responsible for the new lake though.
I took many photos, most of them on film thats so old that none of it may come out; the rest on my crappy little digital that I cant upload from until I get back home.
I shall go have some soup now, then come back and talk to people.
