Of all my new year resolutions, the only one I've upheld is that I've been cooking more often for myself. Rather sad, but at least I'm better fed. There's only so much cold food you can eat during cold weather before your belly freezes over. Hm, I need a toaster that can accomodate baps...

The Burning Crusade approaches. Last night - technically, at least - I was flying over the Eastern Plaguelands and noticed Corin's Crossing was on fire. Flying on to Light's Hope Chapel... the ground underneath was still burning. It wasn't until I landed at the chapel that I realised the cause: Kruul. And he brought friends.

The first time I saw Stratholme burning all about me... well, I was slightly horrified. But it's a limited view, especially from the ground. It wasn't until a particular shot in Rise of the Living Dead 3 - The Turning, a machinima that had a slant on events from Warcraft 3, that the burning city could truly be appreciated. Despite that, it remains a city, and cities are by their very nature contained.

Last night, from the chapel, it looked as if the entire plaguelands were burning, as far as the eye could see; the shapes of giant demons stalked through the flames, slaying all that failed to flee in time. It wasn't until Kruul and his Infernals moved on that we could mount any sort of defence at all. The pack of corehounds were the only thing we could kill.

I wish I'd had the presence of mind to take screenshots.
