Been feeling crappy this weekend. Better now, but went nocturnal a couple weeks early as a result. Trying to stay awake so I can get back on track. I suspect I shall ramble.
So yeah, gave up on the whole NaNoWriMo thing this year. I tried non-Star Wars fanfiction, which was apparently my first mistake. I tried to do Warhammer 40K fanfiction instead. Worse than that, I tried to but a 21st century man into it. By the time he remembered he used to be a lawyer, I had lost all interest.
The guy who got me into it in the first place seems about to manage the 50k words, and he's written a damn interesting fantasy story with it... though the escape from the dungeon is taking a little longer than I'd like. In his world, goblins are civilised creatures, and excellent sailors. Wacky.
The other guy who seconded my induction into this annual adventure... I dunno what his wordcount is, but he's been getting the job done. His story is... dammit, I can't be bothered to look up the stuff that inspired him for this one. Basically it's about a guy who's kinda hyper aware of moments and choices and their effects on events. This guy shares his 'gift' with others, seemingly unconnected, but it's apparent that all his clients are - or will be - connected in some way. Deal with the devil, the devil always wins; that kind of thing. Use of brain not optional but required, which is good.
Been playing too much Dark Crusade, not enough WoW. Hope I at least keep the rank of lt commander. Want to get to commander, the next rank up, so I can display the rank after the Burning Crusade expansion hits. I've got a little over six weeks, I think. As for Dark Crusade, I've learned to hate the Grey Knights in the Space Marines army. Those guys dice my Eldar Guardians up in seconds before slaughtering my Farseer. So far my only defence are the Harlequins; their deathdancing keeps knocking them off their feet, and whenever they're not engaged in melee combat, it's a good thing.
Now show me your tits, my dear.
