Nearly five and a half hours into day two, and I've written about a hundred words less than I needed to in day one.
I don't recall having this much trouble last year; but I'd had plenty of practice writing Vampire: the Masquerade fanfiction. I've never done Warhammer 40,000 before, and the plot... no, wait. I don't really have that much of a plot laid out. The idea is probably a stupid one that's been done by a bunch of stupid people already.
A guy from the early third millenium somehow ends up in the forty-first. Yep, probably been done by every other WH40K fanfiction writer out there at some point. Real fucking original. At least I don't plan to put the guy in Terminator armour or give him psychic powers. Oh, and visiting the Emperor of Mankind is highly unlikely.
Dark Crusade, the second expansion for the WH40K computer game Dawn of War, is out on Friday. I don't know if I should look forward to the potential inspiration or if I should dread the probability that I'll be playing the game too much to write anything. Let's face it, I'm writing about Space Wolves and Dark Angels, two Space Marine chapters that aren't represented so well in Dawn of War. Then there'll be the Administratum, Inquisitor... Czevak I think, and finally a long stint with the Eldar before the surprise ending. (No, their won't be any sex with space elf princesses, either.)
Add to this the fact that I take a break from writing every thirty to forty minutes to go fight in Alterac Valley... I came 102nd in the pvp ranking of Argent Dawn EU last week. If I'd logged in yesterday I'd probably have been in the top hundred, and I'd be that much closer to the rank of lt. commander and the last two pieces of the lesser pvp armour set. Dammit!

Problem is, my client ISN'T happy in her own reality. In her world, the FBI is trying to kill her and that sort of thing.
