sometimes I don't know why I bother seriously I could walk into a job at energy australia with my current skills and sit on 55k for the first year and move up considerably after that... same pay scale as I would be on after the middle of next year working elsewhere. 
Anyway I am going to apply for the jobs on offer they have 10 positions in GIS related work that nobody at uni but myself and another guy seemed interested in, we were the only ones to take cards and talk to them after the lecture.
