I want to be original...

I want to have ideas that scare people. In the things that I do, my work, I want to be like Howard Roarke in The Fountainhead...so ahead of my time people dont understand me, they just look (or listen) to the things I do and wonder where I was when I made them...why I did them that way....what the hell I thought I was doing...Who in the world I thought I was....or even what the hell I was taking....but will ultimatly be seen as mine...my style...

Glenn Gould worked with sound (when he retired from the concert scene), he made compositions with people talking.....just talking; layering voice over voice over voice, until it was an almost seemingly chaotic yet ultimately beautiful, wonderful, challenging, STRANGE work of art...and he worked for himself no one else, they were all him...from INSIDE him...and they are STILL ahead of their time, 30 years later...

Is that narcissitic perhaps...audacious? definitly!
