Felt that this deserved permanent enshrinement in the blog. It's an outstanding meditation on spousal abuse and why women remain in that situation. I think it deserves permanent enshrinement in no small part because it helps m empathize with a woman staying in an abusive situation. It is important to remember that even if there is no instrumental reason like kids, or I need to be married to have a home or a job, but for a change of position and I might very well choose to stay as well. I say empathy because all too often, when we can't see ourselves acting as another would, we don't extend the same level of help because we assume that the person is less deserving.
