I just spent two days in St. Louis, oh it is always so hard to come back to Springfield from anywhere that has some sort of scene or culture. Every time I leave this town it is a constant reminder that I live in a place devoid of any variety.

The Flogging Molly show was fun (as always)...I can't believe I've seen them three times in less than a year! It was a lot different than the times I've seen them in KC because there were so many fucking kids there, I'm talking high school kids, where do they all come from?? Although, I did see a couple who brought their 8 or 9 year old son and that made me happy, he was having a great time, singing along and making the "rock on" sign, ha, really cute.
I came out of the show completly covered in sweat with no voice and a strong ringing in my ears, but it was worth it.
I don't know what it is that makes me feel so connected every time I see them, they just strike a chord in me, the singer has been through so much and a lot of the songs are riddled with things that should be full of grief, but they always seem so happy and the singer is always so positive and happy and doing jigs and such, I don't know, it makes me feel strong too.
And so much of their music, I can feel right now
they say "Life's only Life with you in this song"-and oh man, that has been true for quite some time now.
They say: "This pain in my head, is straight from my heart" and that is me exactly, always, always straight from my heart. And I've been feeling a lot of it lately.

I went with my friend JP who is origianally from St. Louis and hasn't been back in a couple of years, I was happy for him, he got to see a lot of his friends and seemed happier than I've seen him in a long time. Although at the show some gross girl kept hanging on him and whispering strange things to him, every time he pushed her away, she never got the hint, takes all kinds I guess. Afterwards we went to a club where one of his best skinhead friends is the manager, one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, one of those types that after 5 minutes of talking to them you feel as though you've known them for years.

Thursday we just ran around St. Louis all day. I found a great pair of Creepers at Rag-o-Rama for 10 bucks, in perfect condition, hardly worn! I must have good luck with shoes there because the last time I went there I got a pair of blue doc marten boots for 14 dollars, in great condition, once again hardly worn. I don't know what the deal is, I have freakishly small feet, I guess I should thank the shoe Gods or what not.

And we got to do one of my favorite things, shop for music! It is hard to get any music I want here in Springfield, and although, yes, I can buy it online, it is never quite the same as the actual act of looking for music, going through the store and just spending hours going through all the CD's, I love it, I love collecting music and books, those are the only two things I ever really put a lot of money in to. Have I ever mentioned that I hate the I-pod? It takes away from the fun of owning your own music collection. There is no work involved in it, everything is instant gratification with the I-pod, I hate that. Maybe I'm just "old-school" or too afraid of technology but I will never get bored of spending hours in a music store.

I'm starting a new job next week and my friend Katherine is coming home this weekend, yay! I miss her, I have a lot of friends, but I don't have a lot of close girl friends, I always find it easier to be friends with guys and it takes a lot more for me to be really close to girls or even really like them becuase there is always so much drama and cattiness with girls and I hate that. So I'm excited to see her and get some "girl time" in, ok sounds really dorky to say that, maybe I should go read a fucking babysitters club book or something, ha. Anyhow, good weekends to all of my sg friends!
