So, I'm 100% fully recovered from that stupid car crash incident, my bike on the other hand, has been laid out to pasture. This turn of events has left me bike-less for about a month now, which is really kinda lame. Not only do I have to take the smelly murder-prone subway to work everyday, but I have all these friends that all have bikes and live kinda far away. So, if they all want to go out for a drink after work, they ride their bikes down to the bar, finish off a pitcher, and then I come waltzing in a half hour- 45 minutes after them and have to play catch up. Lame! Or, I have to take two trains to and walk half a mile to get to their apartments.

Anyway! Long-story-short, I finally caved in and bought a new bike. It was pretty awesome, except I didn't know how to install the breaks, and, as someone who's been hit by 3 different vehicles on his bike, I kinda wanted to make sure they were pretty nicely on there, ya know? So I took it to the bike shop and asked them to install the breaks. The bike shop said the bike could use a tune up (for a nominal fee of coarse). A day later, they said the front wheel was busted and needed to be replaced (for a nominal fee, of coarse). Sigh, this thing is turning into the most expensive "cheap" bike I've ever bought... but I shouldn't complain, even after the tune up, the break installation, and the new wheel, the damn thing is still cheaper than what the bike's worth, and it's in a lot better condition, so... that's pretty sweet.

In the mean time, my mom randomly showed up today with a brand new mountain bike that she got from some guy she works with. This bike is probably one of the ugliest things I've ever seen, but, it'll get me to work until my "real" bike is out of the shop.

Geez, is this what it's like to own a car?
