Hrmm a lot has happened.. In a new apartment now, other side of Central FLA... I've lost a lot of my friends lately.. Mostly because of my views on personal freedom vs group freedom.

For instance:

I have no problem with people who are homosexuals deciding that they are married. That's fine with me, I believe in freedom of religion... They should be allowed to think what they want... But why should I be forced to believe it with them?

I mean I CHOOSE to believe that's what they want, and that's what they are... I just don't want to be forced to.

Personal freedom vs Group Freedom... Personal freedom says I get the right to not have to think of them as married... Not have to treat them as married.. Group freedom says I HAVE to believe that and treat them as such.

I don't know... I just don't want to be forced to believe something I don't believe in.

I totally agree - but I do see one snag in your thinking. I personally tend to think that if two people say "we're married and you should respect that", that I should, in the idea of not hurting them or belitting their ideas, "go along" with it in public and keep my own ideas to myself. In a way, it's not acceptance, but toleration of their ideas. If people can't understand that people can't accept different ideas, then maybe they weren't such good friends in the first place...
