This small Krazy Kat panel pleases me so much I think I will let him in place for some days more. It makes me grin everytime I check my page.
Seeing my own image instead doesn't make me grin so much.

it's wierd how skrewy our priorities get sometimes. I had my hand on a Krazy Kat anthology a couple of weeks ago & carryed it around the bookstore with me, finally balking at the stickerprice (something like 12 bucks) & setting it down, even tho I'd spent maybe three times that on beer later that day.
kinda wish I had the herriman 'stead of the hangover.
ratsonjulia:
going to SLC tommorrow (or tonight, if I can rouse up the ambition), & I think I'll just have to get that sumbitch--I can't remember where I first came across his stuff, but I think it was "the many lives of archie & mehitabel" (or the lives & times of..., whatever)
marquis & herriman--a match made in heaven (or at least a wildly amusing hell...)

I'll be away from the keyboard for some time.
A cute little comics character will replace me in the window, so most people won't notice anything.

i'm not sure if i understand your reasoning for wanting to put me on your friends list. i've never even talked to you or anything! not saying its not possible, just seems premature maybe?

``Dad?''

``What?'' A small bird rises from a tree in front of us.

``What should I be when I grow up?''

The bird disappears over a far ridge.
I don't know what to say. ``Honest,'' I finally say.

``I mean what kind of a job?''

For three days I was away from home, and with no computer at hand.
Unsurprisingly, when I went back and opened my mailbox, it was full (when I get usually 2 or 3 emails a day... on "normal" days...)
And it was not even junkmail, but REAL messages I had to read carefully and answer...
Fortunately, I also found... somewhere... a small one-liner that made...

Dude! I keep a copy of "Le Fleurs de Mal" next to my toilet!
(I wrote that mostly to see the words "dude!" & "Les Fleurs de Mal" in the same sentence, more or less.)

"How shall we kill this old, this long remorse
which writhes continually
& feeds on us as worms upon a corse,
Maggots upon a tree?
How stifle this implacable remorse?

What wine, what drug, what philtre known of man
will drown this ancient foe,
Ruthless & ravenous as a courtesan,
Sure as an ant, & slow?
What wine? what drug? what philtre known of man?"
from the irreperable

Yeah, the link I gave out on my profile thing is a pdf file, so if you don't have acrobat you can't look at it, also, it's through aol, so it might not connect sometimes seeing as that's so crappy. if you have acrobat, you can try to download that .pdf file and read it in there.
rawr_ima_monster:
hooray indeed. thanks. I'm getting all antsy abotu the fact that there are no more comments on that thread.
-has issues with validation and confidence,

Theatrical fragment, from a play by unknown author, late XXth/ early XXIst century, as reconstructed by XXXXth century paleographers from a manuscript unearthed from what was probably the tomb of a princess of the lost kingdom of Virginia:

Tori the Amos:
I guess I'm an underwater thing
I'm liquid running
there's a sea secret in me
it's plain to see it is rising

thanks, eh?
we do what we can to keep from screaming, slipping into a coma, accidentally brushing with hemmorhoid ointment, etc.
(incidentally, wasn't there a [possibly apocryphal] fragment in which Marianne [the Faithful] murders the children of Mick [the Jagger] & flies off in an Audi drawn by Dragons....? maybe I'm thinking of something else...)
rawr_ima_monster:
hi yourself!
thanks for the comment, stop by again, often. I am quicly making friends here, and am amazed by the ease of it all. I can't think of a better compliment than to be compared to Hobbes...I packed away all my friggin books, and now I want to read some C and H RIGHT NOW.
-aaaugh.

Middle of the night: low clouds everywhere, big dark clouds swallowing the cityscape all around.
The hill my room's window is facing is not here anymore. Instead, something looking like a cargo in the mist. It's the church with all its lights on. It seems to be pitching.

The only other visible thing is the moon.
