CSI over SVU? no. I don't think so. The ensemble is way too strong on SVU. I think Jack Skellington, Edward Gorey and Neil Finn would all agree with me. (Yes, I KNOW Gorey is dead).

Oh, and I agree on Erin's amazing bottom lip! Have you seen Cherry with new boy hair? Her "bitchcam" pics make me just want to bite that lip!

I know what you mean about words getting you hot. I've had some quite delightful moments with a writer involving only words. In fact, I'd venture to say more satisfying than some of my face to face encounters.

all of your "gets me hot" section i just want to give an amen to, save one: I love somewhat unnatural scents, in the sense that a clean, lightly soapy smelling body makes me weak in the knees.

I like that smell too. I love smells. Smells and sounds are wired directly to the core of me. Often I can describe a situation most effectively with a remembered scent.

I keep meaning to buy some Sarah Harmer. She's Canadian and I should support her.

Your right hiring externally really does suck. Im not sure what you do but when I used to work in finance for this huge corporate momster, they too tending to hire externally into management positions to avoid having to transition a non exempt into an exempt position where they may be having to manage their peers. Its total fucking bullshit but it can be effective. Not necessarily in the way of finding the best person for the job but more to quash any internal conflic should there be one. I am so fucking glad I quit that job. The company I am working for now does skill based promotions for the first 3 years of employment. Where you actually take classes and test into your promotion. So its guarenteed that if you are bright and have iniciative you will succeede. I am diggin that.

You should feel free to bitch. If you brood you will eventually explode and thats so no healthy. Richard Ashcroft said it best when he wrote..."Happiness is more or less just a change in ME somthing in MY liberty"

I had a similar experience with my sister yesterday. We haven't been spending much time together of late. I went over to her place and had breakfast. We sat around drinking coffee, eating biscotti, and playing scrabble and mancala. We had a long talk, full of laughter and she started talking about scars for some reason. She pointed out a bump in the palm of her hand.

She said she'd gotten it running in the rain when we were in high school. It was my prom night and she had wanted to be outside the auditorium to see me in my prom finery. She'd slipped and embedded a small pebble in there. I never knew she'd come to see me all dressed up. It touched me and I smiled at her. We looked at each other for a few minutes, not speaking, casting our minds back to when we were silly girls together. I saw her as I'd not seen her before.

Ah....just drew a wistful sigh upon reading this. At a loss for words recently...

Appreciating all the lovely SG kids who fill in those blanks divinely, like yourself.

I have faith your inner SG will come out once you put on that lingerie and crank up the burlesque beats. I'd suspect performing for someone you hope to, um, impress would increase the sense of excitement for you. Have fun. You sure sound smart enough to know how to excite another's brain.

Hopefully, your friend will rationally examine what's occurred. Naturally, we'd all prefer that our feelings not get hurt. But it does happen, even among friends. Not that she has to like it, but she can't expect that it can't ever happen.

You know what's odd is that I normally wake up between 7:30 and 8 every morning, regardless of alarm clocks, and I enjoy it -- except this morning when I had to get up. I guess that will teach me for volunteering opening shifts.

The best thing that happened to me today? While those moments are few and far between lately, I suppose it was seeing my former Yoga teacher at work. Such an interesting and kind woman (and I should really get back into Yoga).

i don't feel pathetic, or weak, just cognizant of what's important to me and how i am going to have it. so i guess that's a good thing, right?

Reminds me of an artist from the nineteenth century, and I don't remember who, whose skies were incredible: vibrant and glowing. A physical geography teacher of mine related the intensity of this painter's skies to the fact that the atmosphere was filled with ash from the Krakatoa (I believe) eruption. The ash was affecting light and reflection.

It's not as glamorous when it's 100 degrees in here, or there are drunks fighting outside my window. Or the sirens wake me up again.
