so i spent a long lazy day off by myself, slept in late and had a nice bowl of cereal with tivo this morning. i had many thoughts of what might be better spent activities than the ones i chose today, but i didn't get around to any of them, save one. i went for a run in the late morning, and i'm extremely glad...

I channeled all of my pent up worry and waiting on someone else to show up emotionally into words last night. i wrote a short story that i'm sure will show itself to be utter pith, but it's the exercise that my mind needs, to flex my brain that seems to atrophy with each passing day. i want to write for a living, i want...

I'm practicing too, admittedly not that intently. I hope one day to submit something.
I know what you mean about words getting you hot. I've had some quite delightful moments with a writer involving only words. In fact, I'd venture to say more satisfying than some of my face to face encounters.
all of your "gets me hot" section i just want to give an amen to, save one: I love somewhat unnatural scents, in the sense that a clean, lightly soapy smelling body makes me weak in the knees.
I like that smell too. I love smells. Smells and sounds are wired directly to the core of me. Often I can describe a situation most effectively with a remembered scent.
I keep meaning to buy some Sarah Harmer. She's Canadian and I should support her.
I hope you are having a good weekend, dear girl.

Ah...sigh...Tori Amos...that's all I can say. Trying to say more would get in the way of your well-phrased sentiments. Keep on expressing yourself, girl.

I'm feeling very tangled up inside my body cavity. i'd say my heart, but it feels like that's in my throat and my stomach is like a roiling sea.
i met the woman today that is getting a position i didn't even get to interview for. outside hiring is utter crap. they get hired with higher pay, cut waaay more slack if they fuck up,...

Your right hiring externally really does suck. Im not sure what you do but when I used to work in finance for this huge corporate momster, they too tending to hire externally into management positions to avoid having to transition a non exempt into an exempt position where they may be having to manage their peers. Its total fucking bullshit but it can be effective. Not necessarily in the way of finding the best person for the job but more to quash any internal conflic should there be one. I am so fucking glad I quit that job. The company I am working for now does skill based promotions for the first 3 years of employment. Where you actually take classes and test into your promotion. So its guarenteed that if you are bright and have iniciative you will succeede. I am diggin that.
You should feel free to bitch. If you brood you will eventually explode and thats so no healthy. Richard Ashcroft said it best when he wrote..."Happiness is more or less just a change in ME somthing in MY liberty"
have a great day!

i pushed the snooze button twice this morning. that's two more times than i ever do. i also bargained with myself, and rationalized that if i weighed less than x, i didn't have to go running this morning before work, i would wait to do it after i got home. i'm happy to say i have a belly full of cinnamon toast crunch and my...

i had dinner tonight with an old friend, a girl i used to be best friends with in high school. it's really quite amazing to me that even though we travel in different social circles, we see each other and it's as if no time has passed, we talk and laugh as easily as we ever have, and yet- i never see her.

i love knowing that something i said or did was significant to someone i like, i live for that...and yet i pretty much deny myself those opportunities on a daily basis.
I completely understand where you're coming from there. I've been asking myself the same question.

That is true....easy returns at VS...still sucks returning tho. I don't think there is anything "last chance" about VS - with all the catalogs they send...they don't give the impression that it will be the last chance to purchase any of that stuff!
have you ever sat across a table from someone that you have looked at and studied their face at least a hundred times, and see them in a completely different way? i sat across the table from a friend of mine tonight and i was taken aback at how beautiful she is. her eyes are lighter than i have recalled in the past and in...

I wish I lived down the street from you too, lovely. The thought that I could inspire you in any way puts a great big happy grin on my face. Thank you!
I had a similar experience with my sister yesterday. We haven't been spending much time together of late. I went over to her place and had breakfast. We sat around drinking coffee, eating biscotti, and playing scrabble and mancala. We had a long talk, full of laughter and she started talking about scars for some reason. She pointed out a bump in the palm of her hand.
She said she'd gotten it running in the rain when we were in high school. It was my prom night and she had wanted to be outside the auditorium to see me in my prom finery. She'd slipped and embedded a small pebble in there. I never knew she'd come to see me all dressed up. It touched me and I smiled at her. We looked at each other for a few minutes, not speaking, casting our minds back to when we were silly girls together. I saw her as I'd not seen her before.

so i'm faced with a dilemna... do i let someone that i care about extricate themselves out of my life because of a misunderstanding that i didn't mean to cause, or do i fight for them to let me back in? i understand alot about wanting to be solitary, to not need or seek others out in order to feel like your life is complete...aren't...

I'm posting, as you'd asked, and I was seriously pep-talked re: getting out in the world today, and letting folks know about what I'm doing.
So, I'm performing:

my god the burlesque show last night was hot. once again stormy was the epitome of the trashy hussy, and i found a brand new appreciation of nixon. that girl has an ass that's hypnotic...sicily was signing posters afterward, and even though i'm on her friends list... i was so tounge tied around her. i know these girls aren't celebrities or anything, but they are...

I have faith your inner SG will come out once you put on that lingerie and crank up the burlesque beats. I'd suspect performing for someone you hope to, um, impress would increase the sense of excitement for you. Have fun. You sure sound smart enough to know how to excite another's brain.
Hopefully, your friend will rationally examine what's occurred. Naturally, we'd all prefer that our feelings not get hurt. But it does happen, even among friends. Not that she has to like it, but she can't expect that it can't ever happen.
Off to see SG Burlesque tonight! Thanks for the preview.

i have a morning all to myself tommorow, and i'm not yet sure what i would like to do with it. a part of me cries out to sleep in, but the larger more altruistic side encourages me to go down to the salvation army and drop off all my donations. i have to get my car washed, get some more bath gel from the...

You know what's odd is that I normally wake up between 7:30 and 8 every morning, regardless of alarm clocks, and I enjoy it -- except this morning when I had to get up. I guess that will teach me for volunteering opening shifts.
The best thing that happened to me today? While those moments are few and far between lately, I suppose it was seeing my former Yoga teacher at work. Such an interesting and kind woman (and I should really get back into Yoga).

so i know i've been away for a good while, but it's not because i don't want to be around... just extremely busy with life and work, and trying to cultivate other interests besides ones that take me away from being productive, like spending endless hours on this site... no offense

i don't feel pathetic, or weak, just cognizant of what's important to me and how i am going to have it. so i guess that's a good thing, right?
Sounds like the definition of calm to me.
Reminds me of an artist from the nineteenth century, and I don't remember who, whose skies were incredible: vibrant and glowing. A physical geography teacher of mine related the intensity of this painter's skies to the fact that the atmosphere was filled with ash from the Krakatoa (I believe) eruption. The ash was affecting light and reflection.

and i'm stuck in a track house in suburbia... you make your place sound almost glamorous in its difference to my dwelling.
It's not as glamorous when it's 100 degrees in here, or there are drunks fighting outside my window. Or the sirens wake me up again.
