I have managed to attract the attention of an extremely image-conscious, trend-starting, borderline-narcissistic musician.
To live the life of a hipster for a while? Or to stay comfortable, being nerd-me?
The most frustrating thing is that I know there's an equally geeky side of him that we can completely relate on... but since he'd so wrapped up in his "rockstar" image, he hardly lets that nerdy side show!
I have firmly convinced myself that EVERYONE is a geek. Deep down. No matter how well you play the social game, no matter if you play by all the superficial rules... at the end of the day, we all know there's a side of ourselves that needs to be laughed at a little. Or hidden in shame.
I think it's healthy to acknowledge the funny stuff about us! Trying to give off a flawless image of ANYTHING is a tiring, futile social endeavor.
