You guys ever watch talk shows and think "What the fuck IS this?"
All it is, as I can't help but see it, is 2 or more people we don't know talking about things we generally don't give a fuck about. I'm referring to the interviews done on the late night talk shows, and Oprah, the View (is that still on?)... any one used as a vehicle for celebrities to try to up their visibility before the release of something they've done.

Sorry, this is a bit of a stoner moment. One of the only reasons I do smoke pot is because I become hyper-critical of television and film. I can "see" all the work that went on to make it seem natural and effortless, the people with headsets frantic in the wings or otherwise behind the scenes...

Anyways. Who here likes pomegranates? confused

I didn't have TV for like six months (the goddamn cable company decided that we shouldn't be stealing cable anymore {it was already stolen when we moved in}). We just bought an antenna for our house, so now we get the free stations. Now, all of TV is "what the fuck is this???". It's really odd how stupid TV seems after not watching it for such a long time.

tongue that parallels too many of my late night experiences that it is scary. The talk shows, like you said, just blow my mind but also the local public broadcasts, religious nuts, and infomercials are too much. People telling each other things you don't give a flying shit about and it is all intended for that person sitting on the couch at home who should have there own life going. (and some people just take it at face value and dont realize how rediculous it all is).

The concept of a laugh track just scares the shit out of me though. Yes please, tell me when I think it should be funny!

Anyway, no need to be sorry (stoner conversation or not) because it is one of those "absurdity of mankind" topics that are always welcome.wink

Off the subject though...I'm gonna be out of school in a few weeks with a little bit of free time...fire off a few "favorite books"! smile
