What day would this be then, 5? I think 5.
This weekend had been ridiculously boring. I've spent most of my days sitting around the house, watching movies and episodes of It's Always Sunny and Arrested Development. On the plus side, bored-ness and drunkenness can often lead to good ideas. Or crazy ideas, like dressing up like magicians and trying to pick up girls by telling them we were auditioning new assistants (for the record, that's not a REAL idea). But Jack and I did have a good idea last night at the bar.
What we're going to do is start an "underground" collective of young artists from around the city in order to a.) help fuel our own creativity, b.) meet new people, c.) it's better than sitting around doing nothing, and d.) to make art, because art is... well... important. What we'll do is just set up "happening" type events that either have everyone working on their own art at designated locations or working on one big artistic project. Also, we'll probably have a number of bar nights. One example of something we're planning on is this: what we're going to do first is anyone who wants to join will buy a day pass for the Rapid, then we'll ride around all together with our sketchpads, notebooks, cameras, or whatever, getting off at different stops and just kinda searching the city for inspiration. It's all kind of still up in the air at this point, but we think it'd be awesome if we get enough people involved. So I guess if you're an painter, writer, musician, photographer, or any kind of artist in the greater Cleveland area, and you'd like to just kinda hang out with a group of artists looking to stimulate their own creativity, let me know if you want in. Eventually we'll try branching out into another cities by making drives as a group to other places and trying to meet new people.
So that's our brilliant, creative, non-profit idea. If we can find the right people, it should be pretty sweet.
Hopefully that'll keep me out of trouble for a while once it gets started. In the meantime, however, I still have nothing to do. It's maddening.
And after last night, I'm done trying to talk to people at the bar. I saw two girls I went to fucking grade school with, and one of their moms, and not one of the three of them acknowledged my existence when I tried to say hello to them. And trust me, it wasn't some kind of mistake. They looked me right in the eye, I said their names, and they just turned and walked away. Jack said " We're so unattractive, people we know and 50-year old women won't even talk to us." Obviously, this was a joke. But still, it's true enough I suppose. What a fucking drag. Back to another day of nothing I guess. As per usual, I'll be around if anyone needs me. Ciao, kids.
