so here's the million $$$ question:
just started dateing him, met his oldest son last week (he has custody of him) and his sons Birthday is this Friday,
I really like his son. I was super nervous about meeting him since I've had such a huge crush on "D" and he's such a sweetheart I'd love for this to work out. well his son is awesome...we really hit it off. I'm so happy. so the question....should I buy him a gift? or just a card? I'm not thinking about anything expensive or extreme. he's going to be 12 (I think) and he's wicked into comic books, superman, spiderman, star wars, video games...that type of shit.
my friends at work adamently say NO!!!!! that the most I should give him is a card.
and now the rst of the story....his Mom lives in Tennessee (spelling?) with his 4 other siblings, "D" tried to call there today and the phone was disconnected. this also happened at Christmas time and she didn't send her son anything ...no card, no gift, NO CALL!!! nothing! the poor kid!
what does everyone think???? help a girl out.

By seriously inexpensive, I was thinking under $10. Like a comic book or something.
I think anything over that cost, and D might worry that you're moving too fast.
You know, like trying to cozy up to the son to get to the dad.
