I have an irrational hatred of Rick Steves. I have never met the man and to my knowledge he has done nothing evil or harmful to anyone. I find his approach to travel aesthetically repulsive and his vocal mannerisms drive me to the edge of insanity but Im not sure either of those can account for the intensity of my dislike.
If I were a motivated obsessive I would create a website devoted to my passionate antipathy to all things Rick Steves. I would document his bizarre choice of words and vocal tics. I would mock the middlebrow banality of the people who call into his show. I would buy his books and count the adjectives. If I brought the right mix of rancorous originality and generational irony to the project other people might notice and I could start my own Interweb meme and maybe even earn a spot in wikipedia. But I am an unmotivated obsessive so this journal entry is probably it.

I think a lot of people would like to kick that guy's ass even though he's never really done anything to them. He's creepy and weird. He might be an alien.
