So, I went to the Waterfront Blues Festival last night after work and it was easily one of the best things Ive done for myself in a long time. I will be going again today as its Zydeco Day and having been born and raised in Louisiana, I cant resist. Anyway, it was a lot bigger than I expected. Being new to Portland, I had no real knowledge of what a big deal it is around here. But it was awesome to see live blues again.
In other news, Chris (my brother) sent me the newest Death By Stereo CD as a belated Birthday gift and, oh god does it rock. I hope this release gets them a little more recognition than the last one because they deserve it. I saw them on a side stage when my band played at last years Warped Tour in Colorado (I just like saying that) and all I could think about while watching them was how much better they were than most of the bands on the main stages.
Anyway, Im off to satisfy my inner coon-ass.
