I did a similar thing the other week, i dropped the camer with the lens on, and lens managed to split itself into 2 parts (which involves unsrewing 3 screws,) instantly. I was able to screw it back together though without damage

@dave11111 I think I either broke the focusing motor on it because it will not autofocus. Luckily it is only a kit lens and not one of my other ones. I learned my lesson and will always check the zippers on my bags before I throw them over my shoulder.
