Today, I learned that my Uncle/Godfaher Blane was diagnosed with pancreotic cancer. Its inopperable right now and he'll be strating chemotherapy tomarrow. He presumably has between 6 months and 5 years to live. I don't know when I'm going to North Dakota to seen him but I hope its soon.
I don't think the cancer will take him and I have a story to explane why:
I don't remember exactly when this was (his late teens) but Blane was bailing hey on the family farm when the bailer got jammed. If you don't know, a bailer is a huge metal cage with various inner workings that shape hay into bails (of all things). Its not a gentle piece of machinery. Blane reached in to unjam the machine and did so but without turning it off. His arm began to be processed off and, in a panic, he reached in with his other arm to free himself. His other arm go tcaught aswell which meant, to survive, he had to rip his own arms off. He did so AND walked a mile to the nearest neighbor to get to the hospital.
If he survived that, I'm going to belive that he can pull through this odreal aswell. He's like an armless Chuck Norris (looks like it too)
