The cost of stuff in the UK makes me chuckle; it's nothing new to moan about the prices of, well, everything over here - cars, houses, petrol, electronics, blah-de-blah-de-blah it's all *way* overpriced compared to certain other countries I could mention (America for example)...and that's fine, I don't really get irate about it (which makes a change o_O) as it's just the society we're stuck with; but every once in a while something happens that *really* makes me think twice about it.
Take something as simple as a video game for example, namely Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox360, now if I were to go down to Curry's or the local independent game store right now I could get a copy for between 45 and 50...if I were stupid that is! Well since I like to flatter myself with delusions of intelligence I didn't do that, instead I ordered it from one of the companies I use to import Japanese, Chinese and Korean movies, and got *exactly* the same product for 23 - and that includes postage! *That* is why the cost of things in this country makes me laugh - that something can cost half the price it does if I were to walk 100 yards down the street when it's being shipped from the other side of the world is just, well, priceless
