I finally got around to watching Sympathy for Lady Vengeance last night...fuck it's brutal! Drags a bit at the start but the end is...erm...uncompromising to say the least, you know you're watching a good film when it can make you recoil in horror from what's going on! o_O.
Comparisons to Old Boy are inevitable I suppose but, in my opinion, a trifle unfair since the way the subject matter is presented is so different; true the central theme is vengeance but this film is much more serious in nature than Old Boy, the violence is more psychological than the comic book style of it's predecessor...anyway, well worth 2 hours of your time
