So yeah, Gates of Ahn'Qiraj thing, it was the opening yesterday on Magtheridon...i'd heard about the problems on Medivh (multiple server crashes etc) due to loads of people from other servers creating new characters to try and get a sneaky look at what happens...therefore spoiling the hard work of others
, but was hopeful that things weren't going to go the same way on Mag...Blizz closed the server for new characters a week or so ago so we were off to a hopeful start I thought.
And then, yesterday at 3, I got to the gates and thought again...it seems that nigh on *everyone* on our world wanted to see this big event (I was no exception ofc!) and "overcrowded" doesn't even begin to cover it! It took a few piccies while I was there:
Rather busy eh? Needless to say all that activity brought people's computers to their knees, my normally constant 40-60fps took a nosedive to 6-11 :/ and it wasn't just our computers that were suffering either, shortly after I took those pics the server crashed...then it crashed again...and again...and again...and, well, you get the idea
After 8 crashes and increasingly irate flaming going on in the general channel I called it quits and decided to leave...I did contribute a lot to the farming etc but I thought that the guild who'd done the hard work of getting the scepter deserved to see the opening more than I. A few hours later when I logged in again I saw that, as promised, all hell had broken loose
and me and a couple of other hunters had some great fun kiting the lvl62 elite mobs around Silithus for teh proverbial phat lewtz! \o/
Word of warning though...don't go to the gates for the opening on your server, I assure you you won't see anything! o_O

And yeah. It's all in the plan but there are house sellage factors to be cleared first.
I figure possibly Spring might be a good option (late March/early April) as the evenings may be a bit lighter, the weather a bit warmer and I a bit richer...
