Just got finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Its AMAZEINGLY good. And after doing so, ive come to love both movies even more. Its as though the two directors had planed this. both movies have different aspects of the book, and where one leaves something out, the other picks up. At the same time, some of the things that are in the book are not in the movies, and some things in the movies are not in the book, and some things in the book are expanded on or contracted in the movies. Over all both movies hit on certain feelings of the book. The first movie bringing out the energetic positive side of Willy Wanka, while subtracting from the true deprevity of Charlies life, and the true creepyness that both willy wonka and the oompa-loompas. Where the Second film brings out that creepy edge of the two, includeing an almost exact quoteing of the songs. but it subtracts from the happy and overbearingness that Willy Wanka expresses in his enjoyment of people and the kids.
