certainly how i feel lately. and will until may.
i am in a routine again and am always doing something. i miss days off.
below is a little rant, so please, if you don't want to read it, don't.

what has happened in haiti is horrible. my heart goes out to them.
listening to the news, i heard one day last week, people in America raised over a million dollars. that is incredible! seriously. amazing. such good will and the want to help. i love it.
however, at the same time, it got me thinking. if we can do all that in one day, what does it take for people to help out here? it is so difficult for agencies and causes to get people behind them and get the support. agencies all over are drying up when it comes to finances and volunteers. What does it take for Americans to help America?
we have so many homeless, no jobs, mental illness, felons who can't get jobs, veterans who can't adapt back to civilian life, etc. but never any help or support. i suppose it is true that people always feel there is never a problem in their 'backyard'.
if we can get even a portion of those people to help, let's say, homeless veterans have shelters, it would do so much good. it would be a fantastic start.
why can't we help out not only those in other countries, but our country just as much?
guess this is just my ideological, social work thought.

People do good deeds only on reactionary terms, if it is not a shocking revelation they can not be shaken out of their waking state of apathy. If you could, somehow, shock people with the state of America today youwould be amazed how many people would be wiling to do something about it...
