But now comes the really difficult part...transition to a new career field. It's going to be hard and frustrating, but I'm determined to find something else to do.

Happy Birthday!! Welcome to your thirties, where everything starts to go downhill and the hangovers last for days.

Thanks @iggy and @baalseraph!

I'm glad to be out of the Army, but I would still like to get a tattoo commemorating my time in - it was a significant time in my life. I can't decide on a design, though - nothing overly patriotic or anything. I'm leaning towards getting a dog tag (or two) on my upper arm with stuff like my name, service (Army) and dates...

And thank you very much for your service. 5 years is a long time, and I hope you know it's appreciated.
tmk:
@avaroulette Thank you! Yeah, it doesn't seem to be a very popular tattoo for some reason. I guess because some vets think it's cliche? Whatever, I don't care. My best friend has a giant "SOLDIER" tattoo across his back, but that to me was too...I don't know...uncreative? Lol.

I've been thinking about growing a beard, just to see how it looks on me...any opinions?

(@radical I already know yours lol)

radical:
Oh :( i wanted to go all crazy and say: "grow that fucking beard for god's sake". But it's okay, i'll hold it in.
naiser:
DO IT! but take care of it, a nice beard looks awesome but if you don't take care of it it'd become homeless stuff haha

...but most people tell me I look like I’m still in my early 20s. Someone even told me once I looked like a teen. I count that as a win, I guess. Small victories.

iggy:
*high five*
tmk:
@iggy *High fives back* Yay for our youthful looks holding up! Lol

I've been shot at, rocketed, mortared, fried (Kuwait and the Mojave Desert), and frozen (Afghanistan in the winter).

But let me tell you...nothing compares to cold, wet feet. It's by far the worst.

I registered to take the Foreign Service Officer Test for the State Department in June. It shouldn't be too hard - I hope. At least not after this graduate program. I wonder if it's similar to the FBI test (which I've taken before).

Well, at least one firm didn’t reject me right away. But I’m sure the department they redirected me to will reject me shortly. Lmao.

Just have to keep trying! Also, I completely f-ed up my final project for one of my classes. I hope my teacher is in a generous mood.

I wonder if I can still field strip an M-16 rifle. Probably, it's like riding a bike...you never forget it once you've been taught to do it lol

I saw a really cute beagle today. I should get a dog. It's boring and lonely living alone.
