I met a French woman last night during a group function that I belong to (my attempt at being more social here). I was pleasantly surprised because despite the wide range of nationalities represented in this city, she was the first French person I had met (one of the women who cuts my hair is Algerian, so she speaks French but is not actually ethnically French). So I attempted to speak French with her, only to fail miserably. I studied and spoke it in high school, but that was 15 years ago...I didn't realize it had devolved this badly though. I really need to maintain my foreign language skills. I mean, even my Korean starts to slip if I don't practice it often.
