We had a mysterious neighbor while I was growing up.

We never saw him, the mailman never delivered anything, no headlights ever turned into the driveway, lights were never on in the house. Nothing. A lawn service came once a month and took care of the grounds, and, somehow, the house always seemed to be in good upkeep.

This fact disturbed my father more than...

love is that powerful attraction towards all that we conceive or fear or hope beyond ourselves when we find within our own thoughts the chasm of an insufficient void and seek to awaken in all things that are, a community with what we experience within ourselves.

love is the most shocking discovery of all.

...Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from...

I can only imagine! I wonder what the retention rate was like at the end of that year.

I'll definitely be on the roof with something at the end of the week if they keep doing it, but I'm pretty sure it won't be a bb gun! surreal

little Tj unusual behavior factoid #273: whenever someone calls and immediately says "oh, i have the wrong number"... i immediately wonder if the person that'd called works for some law enforcement/mob/gang/paramilitary group and was merely calling to see if i were in the house so that the aforementioned organization could stage a raid... and i then run through a quick list of things that i...

No dough, no blow, what's a girl to do? I went to a crazy dress up party on Saturday. The Sexadelic Scorpio Space Harem party. I bellydanced for hours. Wheeeeeee!

I need to find a good blues bar around here... smoky... a small stage with an old wooden chair and barely enough room for more than a haunting voice and a one-chord groove... a place where you're given whiskey regardless what you asked for...

I say this not because I have "the blues" - oh! quite the contrary! - but because sometimes, the blues are...

I feel you on the blues bar thing. I have a small smokey diner and bar which are nice, but no none juke box music. How sad.
alyssum:
There's a definite dearth of blues bars around here. I can't say as I've ever been to one! confused

My hubby's family is a big one on making a metric ton of really good food. That was a major shock to me - Dutch Babies are one of about 2 things my mom cooks more or less from scratch.

I'm definitely staying tuned! biggrin

abra:
by all means, pursue photography seriously. you are so talented. (everytime i turn on my computer, i see your picture of jellyfish and think of you. do you have any pictures of squirrels?...)

(was my journal entry presumptuous? i'm sorry. forgive me?)

anyway, it's the coolest toy ever. i feel like i'm ten again... but transformers ain't got shit on this toy, though.

on top of that, i also got the first issue of my newest...

I have lots of toys too. They're just of the 'adult' variety.

I geek out for complicated home networking configurations. love It should be my bumper sticker.
alyssum:
Awh, but it's true... blush It's not like you can wander around in "There's no place like 127.0.0.1" shirts and have your geekiness be a mystery!

Eek, that's so cool, I can't wait!! You tryin' to make me jealous with that Dutch Baby talk? wink
