Nap Attack
I dont sleep well anymore
I wake up exhausted
And then Im exhausted all day
I get home and Im still exhausted
Its not that I wake up 87 times in the middle of night
Its not that I have a problem falling asleep
I could fall asleep right now
Conceivably, I could nap all day
I guess that wouldnt be napping though
If I did it all day
It would be sleeping
Unless of course I wake up every hour or so and do something
And not just a sip or two of water or a poorly aimed attempt at pissing
I'm talking more about watching 15 or more minutes of a movie
Or interacting with someone else (email, IM, phonecall, text message)
Or just rubbing one out
When does napping become sleeping?
Is there a nap ceiling?
2 hours?
I think thats a good limit
More than that is just being greedy if you're intention is merely to nap
More than that and youll have trouble sleeping later
On any given night, if you sleep at least that much, you have a decent chance at functioning for almost an entire day provided of course you could see when you went to sleep or you werent involved in some kind of marathon drinking contest
Regardless of what the parameters are I could use a nap right about now
Its not that I go out drinking all night, every night
When I do go out, Im home before one at the latest and thats really pushing it
I walked in my apartment last night and looked at the clock
12:17
Clocks 16 minutes fast
That gave me roughly five and a half hours of sleep
I grabbed the alarm clock
Yelled, "FUCK"
And scanned the room to find someplace to throw the clock
I thought it best that I restrain myself and not lose security in another apartment because of pointless anger
I was mad because I knew Id feel like this today
And tonight when I look at my clock
And Im a little too drunk
And its well passed my bedtime
Im going to curse and scream again
And I know that Im going to feel like this tomorrow
Because I dont learn my lesson
I never do
