Senility At 30

I think my age is catching up to me
And, no
I'm not complaining that I'm old
But I certainly feel older
My feet hurt when I walk too much
Last night I was wishing I had a dog so he could bring me my slippers
Then I wished that I actually owned slippers
Maybe that's not an age issue though
More and more lately I wonder what I'm doing
I'll be in the middle of some mundane task and I'll drift off
Not getting distracted really
My head just kind of clears out
And when I come to
I'm kind of lost
Maybe it's senility
But it's probably my not paying attention
Which is also probably why I can't remember people's names
Though I think that stems more from me really not caring
When you're introduced to 65 people over the span of 2 hours
Something's bound to slip through the cracks
With me
Most of it does
I can recall and recite an episode of Cheers that I saw 15 years ago
But I don't remember the name of a single person that I met just last night
Yesterday I had free passes to go see the new Pixar movie, Cars
I forgot to go
I had the passes in my bag
I left work intending to go
And somewhere between work and the subway it went missing
Maybe I should start writing this stuff on my hand
Seemed to work for Guy Pearce in Memento
Or get a day planner
But after what happened to Charles Grodin in Taking Care of Business, I'd rather not place my life in the hands of one of those
Perhaps an assistant is what I need
