So I've had some time to think about life lately. I find that I am a culprit in a major change in our society.
Isolationism.

I find myself trying hard to avoid others. I haven't had a special someone in my life for some time now. I buy video game consoles to stay home. I'm a member of a online community to stay home. I don't really travel that much outside the US (I just recently changed my mind about international travel). It's almost like I go out of my way to not be part of a real community. A society. A neighborhood. I do have real people that live next to me. Some of them might have great lives and life stories. I drive past the U of M and see all these "kids" with earbuds in. Just asking to NOT be bothered. Having a discussion with my parents the other night concerning immigrants, I felt it necessary to remind them that they too come from immigrants. But they get special treatments! OK maybe we should allow for that, maybe just maybe we could give back. I honestly don't know what to do with my own Isolationism. What to do? Of course there are the simple answers..... get out more/ join some volunteer club/ stop the online crap. But I think it goes deeper then that. This generation, not mine, but this generation could fall into the trap. My generation just helped in the creation of the trap. I still know what a rotary phone is. I remember what it was like to not lock my door every time! I left the house.

I can't figure it all out right now, so I'm gonna go play some Halo 3!

5 minutes in the same room as me and chloe is like being tossed into a bag full of hyperactive badgers who really want attention. But in a totally good way.
