Actually, I don't think I'm going to go. One of my friends went to one in another city, and they said it was pure stripper hip hop crap, so I don't think so. Besides, I've got my snowmobile race on Saturday, and I'm not sure when that ends. However, I might be interested in the aftershow party, just let me know when and where and I'll try to kick it.

i let this sit for too long - maybe you've already gotten it by now, but here's my 2-cents anyways...

you should be able to get a decent older projector for $300-400 - but make sure you know how many hours are on the tubes/bulbs when you get it because replacing them can be annoying and costs more money.

big open loft area should be good - if you can truly handl the 15-foot throw distance that is cool - then you shouild be able to project up to a nice size screen.

you're going to want to block out as much light as possilbe - the Sony VPH-1040 i think it peaks around 500 lumens, so it's gonna need a pretty dark space (total darkness would be best)

I am a big fan of the sony projectors so i'd say it would be a great place to start. then if youre liking it you can graduate up.
