so things went to hell last night.

i sit down to do some work for my degree that i've been putting off.

in fact. i'm going to spare you the details. but i lost a lot of work. and now i effectively have to start from scratch tomorrow.

i'm doing an interactive cdrom. to promote a book. neal stephensons snow crash.

good news though. should get my laptop tomorrow morning.

an ex-friend of mine that i haven't seen in ages sent me a text message today, i'm thinking it's because he's not seen me for a while. no. he wants me to fix his new pc. i tell him i've got more important things to do, and that he can't just ignore me for months, then ask for my help out of the blue. i tell him i'll fix his pc if he gives me his old one.

it's high spec, he thinks it's broken. it's not. he's stupid. if he gives me it, i'll make the mythTV box i'm desperate for.

god. i've not actually done any work here at work, for weeks. i just sit pretending.

it's not like i should be doing anything.

it's not like i do anything important.

it's not like i'm the lead developer.

it's not like i'm working on a huge database project that will revolutionise the business.

oh shit. yes it is.
