so i'm coming home, and this guy gets on the bus..

he always gets on the bus.

this guy sells the big issue in the town i work / study. for americans, the big issue is a magazine that's published, and sold to homeless people, so they can resell it for more, and keep the proceeds. it's like begging with a middle man, since no one reads it anyway.

except this guy isn't homeless. he has a place in a seriously nasty town a few miles away.

note: i live in a NICE town. it wins awards.

anyway. this scummy guy sells the big issue in one town, then gets the bus, tries to sell it on the bus, while drinking beer from cans. then gets off, and sits outside the shops here, selling it. then goes home.

this guy gets off the bus, i hang back so he wont talk to me. and i watch him, walking drinking.

then he chucks his can in someones garden.

i stop.. i ponder.

there's no litter as far as i can see. nothing. not even a scrap of paper.

this garden is pretty, it's well looked after. kind of thing you'd be proud of.

except for the beer can.

so i walk over, and i pick up the can.

and i head off.

but i hear a door behind me, and turn around, thinking i'm about to get shouted at for walking on someones garden.

and there's this little old lady. and she looks at me, smiling.

"that was a very nice thing to do"

it felt good.

maybe i'll reform.
