Mmmmmmm . Cheez-Its and Pepsi for dinner . I scoff at thee nutrition . tongue

I've recently been reading a book that has profoundly altered my perception of what I am and what my place is in this big crazy circus sideshow called life . No , it's NOT the Bible or some other "religious" book . I've always had kind of a problem with organized religion because my mind has always been too scientifically oriented to fully embrace this concept of "faith" . That's not to say I'm completely devoid of spirituality . I'm just not down with the whole Bible thumping way of life .

Oddly enough it is a book about quantum physics , and how we are all made up of subatomic particles that can influence and be influenced by outside energy sources and other subatomic particles . It uses actual scientific research and theory to try to explain how human beings can possess these bizarre and miraculous abilities that science has barely begun to research seriously . It also goes on to say that we , as human beings , may NOT be completely seperated from each other or the rest of the world . Another peculiar concept that it deals with is something known as the Zero Point Field , which is an energy field that exists all around us all of the time ( Kinda' like the "Force" in Star Wars . ) The scientists , physicists , and psychologists that were interviewed in the book believe that this energy field may help to explain things like ESP , astral projection , faith healing , and even how simply "thinking positively" may allow us to actually alter random future events in our favor . Here's a quick excerpt from the book that sums up a lot of what the book is about . " In officially atheist Russia , they had only two categories of belief : something was true or not true . In America , a third category existed : religion , which placed some things strictly beyond the reach of scientific investigation .Everything scientists couldn't explain , everything connected with healing , or prayer , or the paranormal...seemed to fall into this third category . Once it was placed there , it was declared officially out of bounds . " A lot of these scientists that dared to study these taboo concepts were booted out of the scientific community even though they conducted their research in the most scientifically professional ways . I finally found something that could appeal to my logical and scientific side , my spiritual ( Or at least semi-spiritual ) side , and my side that chooses NOT to follow the popular crowd . This book is really cool . Some of it is pretty dry and hard to trudge through , but for the most part anybody can understand it . Trust me . If I can comprehend most of it , ANYBODY can .

Here's a website for the book . It might seem a little "New Age-y and weird , but the book is a fairly level headed read . You can choose to believe or not believe what they give you . Some of it is just so freakin' bizarre that it's really hard to wrap your mind around it even though there is sufficient research and evidence to back it up . Go check it out , you may find it as cool and interesting as I did . surreal wink
