Okay, you know that song "Take on me" by A-ha? The music video depicts a girl being pulled into a comic book. It's classic. Anyhow, I was out on my balcony last night having a smoke when this guy walked by. He looked so much like the comic book guy albeit a little bit creepier, that I just about broke into song. I refrained though (I had to bite my tongue to keep from singing), mostly because he was slightly creepy looking and I figured he wouldn't enjoy my impromtu serenading of him at four am...he looked like the kind of guy who would throw rocks at me. Not that, I'd know. I've never had an guy throw rocks at me. I did see a guy throw a bike wheel at a bus once. That was pretty stellar.

Another reason it was good for me not to break into song...well it's a habit I'm trying to break. Some people quit smoking, quit drinking, quit sex (heaven knows why?), and I'm trying to quit breaking out into spontanious song and dance whenever the mood strikes. A few reasons for this. 1. My roomate in college compared my singing to a tone deaf, dying cow....I countered with the fact that she had never actually heard one so therefore that comparison was inconclusive. 2. I need to stop embarressing myself in public. (walking behind someone, making sound effects for them usually doesn't warrent me new friends). It's the same with breaking into song and dance. Life isn't a musical. I should be more mature and grown up and lady-like and shit.

Alright, I just re-read that last paragraph and everything I said was rubbish. I don't care that I embaress myself. I don't care that I don't always make new friends, because sometimes I do. So HA! And finally I will never be mature (well the type of maturity my parents want me to reach...untattooed, unpierced, married to a khaki wearing gap model with 2 kids.)

So in conclusion, I will keep on singing in public. And it was probably a good idea to not sing on my balcony last night...Mostly because I was scared of the potential rock throwing, just excaped from a comic book , 80's guy but also because I most likely would have woken up my neighbours whom already hate me.

That was the best blog i have ever read. biggrin

Maturity is highly over-rated in my opinion.

I still jump in puddles after all.
