Last night was lovely. Went to see my friend's dance performance. I haven't been to see a dance performance in ages, probably since I was a little girl. I'm hooked into the literary,visual arts, and music scene in San Francisco and thanks to the great film curator I'm working with at my gallery I'm becoming more hooked into the film scene, but dance I'm really clueless about. It was really beautifl. Alot of modern dance. It was amazing to watch the use of their bodies. The control they had over there physical being. Every movement was so fluid sliding from one form into the next and even in moments of total abandon there was an element of preciscion. My friend who curated the event actually did a piece that was much more performance art based. It involved two women sitting at a dining table. The one woman instructs the other how to apply a tourniquet and insert a needle and syringe into her vein, the woman nervously follows the instructions. The first time she misses the vein and has to try again. Once she is inserted it starts filling a vile with her partners blood. The woman removes the needle,vile,and tourniquet. Her partner does the same to her. There is a large monitor set in front of the table that they are sitting at and the women each use a video camera to point at the vile as it fills with blood. After both of the women have filled the viles with their blood they fill the shot glasses that set before them and serve their partner a shot of their blood which they swig back like tequilla. It was incredibly powerful. My friend in the performance told me that the night before a woman in the audience had fainted.

After the performance I made my way to the Lexington for the Godspeed fundraiser. It was packed. I saw lots of friends there that I hadn't seen in ages. Gauge's old band mate was there, Lorelei Lee was there and raffling off tickets for the fundraiser. My friends from the dance performance came. I had a couple beers but remained quite sober for the evening. Got to chat with my lady friend a little bit. She is a sweet one.

Have a Pussy Party at the gallery today. Poloroids of pussy will be taken, pussy art will be shown, pussy books will be read, and pussy cake will be eaten. That's a whole lot of pussy.

I had a great idea for a video I want to make while I was in the shower getting ready for my nite on the town. I need to sit down and right it all down so I don't forget.
