So one of my students was standing at my desk looking at a large wooden box suitcase thing which sits on top of it. He asked Mr. March, whats in the box?
To which I replied Emptiness. But the inside of the box is divided into cubicles so that the emptiness is separated into manageable bits. Too much emptiness all at once can be overwhelming to a person. First youre disoriented and confused, then you spiral into depression & ennui, then you start wearing dark clothes, listening to bad music, and before you know it, youre a full-on Goth. So its best to handle the emptiness in small doses.
(All of this was said without smiling and while still typing on the computer.) He looked at the box, looked at me, and said Can I see?
