What's going on? Life's been on coast mode for the time being. Been trying to get my expensive ass 3.2 GHz laptop fixed. It broke 1 month after the warranty expired and that was my baby. I miss playing CStrike.
I guess I'm going with Patience to Canada for Christmas. Should be fun, I could use a mini-vacation. I just need to make sure I can afford it.
Now I'm not a stickler for praise. I don't require it to do my job, nor is it something that really makes me feel good. But it does, in general, create a more positive workplace. When your supervisor is, not constructively critical, but just critical, tossing your treatment plans condesendingly on the table saying, "that's not gonna cut it," that can make for low morale. Like I said, I don't need praise, but it is nice when you can produce something more than, "yeah, that's not good enough," or, "that's shit." As a clinical supervisor, typically you can offer more productive analysis of my treatment plans and assessments than "that's shit"... Either way, I really think he has some kind of social impairment and I can chalk up all his behaviors to that. What kind of boss tells a CLIENT that he "doesn't shut up" or one of the counselors "don't be an ass."? Anyway, that's my rant.
